Dedication

I dedicate this journal of my life to my loving and talented 23 year old daughter Nicole Kyle Shepard.  She is the apple of my eye, and the most important legacy I will leave behind.  Currently a student at Savannah College of Arts of Design (SCAD), Savannah GA.  She will studying abroad in France this spring at their campus located there.  A great part of my life is unknown to Nicole as we have been estranged for over 10 years now, although we maintain email contact, we have not actually spoken in years.  That part of the story will unfold as the journey continues.

So today I have set out on a mission to record for history my Life’s Journey.  While there are always two sides to every story this will of course represent only my side.  Some who may read this will disagree with the “FACTS” as I remember them, that is what the comment section if there for.  Anyone who reads this and would like to include their side of any story is able to do so.

The Poem The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost is referenced here because in every person’s life there are choices to be made, some choices afford you plenty of time to research and investigate, others require a split second decision, and most fall somewhere in between.  The choices we make, and the reasons, or lack thereof,  forever change the course of our lives.  Sadly, at times.  they also change the lives of others.  This is looked back on as History, and only history will tell the final truth to mortals.  The ultimate judge of truth is GOD.

I will attempt to make this journey easy to follow and revisit by the careful use of TAGS and CATEGORIES, both of which are readily shown in the righ hand column.  To locate a year, a person, an event, a photograph, etc. click on the category that interests you.  Tags will also help refine the subject.  You may also use the SEARCH feature at the top of the page.

The journey begins in the early 1940’s in a small midwestern town in northeastern Ohio called Painesville.
